Job summary

MCI is seeking a Body Repair II to perform removal, repair and replacement of a variety of motor coach components. Primary focus is body repair, with additional duties at Mechanic III level. Based in Torrance, CA, the role involves hands-on repair work on coaches and collaboration with the shop team.

The position includes duties such as pre-delivery inspections, light maintenance tasks, and assisting more senior mechanics to ensure quality workmanship.

Qualifications

• Experience repairing body and frame components on large vehicles.
• Familiarity with riveted, spot-welded and perimeter-welded assemblies.
• Safety-conscious with ability to follow repair specifications.

Responsibilities

• Remove, repair and replace body and frame components including panels, structural members and bulkheads.
• Remove, repair and replace lights, doors, windows, upholstery and body accessories.
• Perform pre-delivery inspections on coaches (new and pre-owned).
• Assist Mechanics I and II as needed.
• Complete lubrication tasks including oil and filter changes and chassis lubrication.
• Check and service transmission fluid, differentials, brakes, axles and related components.
• Disassemble parts and perform cleaning as required.

Position Purpose & Scope

Reporting to the Shop Supervisor, the Body Repair II will perform the removal, repair, and replacement of a variety of motor coach components. Primary responsibility is body repair, with additional duties including Mechanic III level functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Removal, repair and replacement of all body and frame components (including all riveted, spot-welded and perimeter-welded parts, panels, frame members and bulkheads).
• Removal, repair, and replacement of lights, doors (entry, luggage, and compartments). Windows and window glass, moldings, upholstery, and body accessories.
• Pre-delivery inspection of new and pre-owned coaches.
• Assist Mechanic I and II.
• General lubrication functions including engine oil/filter changes, air filter changes, chassis lubrication.
• Transmission fluid and filter changes, differential fluid checks, axle/wheel inspection, removal, and replacement of brake components lubrication.
• Parts disassembly and cleaning.
