Job summary

Stellantis N.V. is seeking a Body Designer in the United States to create 3D NX models and 2D drawings for exterior trim components and assemblies. You will participate from concept to production design and detailing, supporting engineers and design teams to ensure standards are met.

You will work with NX (Unigraphics) and Teamcenter, applying GD&T and manufacturing knowledge to drive accurate, manufacturable designs. Strong collaboration and problem-solving are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 5 years of training or work experience in NX (Unigraphics) automotive design.
• Minimum 5 years of knowledge of vehicles and the vehicle assembly process.
• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes (stamping, welding, molding, casting).
• Strong mechanical aptitude.

TheBody Designeris responsible for creating3D designs usingNXandTeamcenterfor various Exterior Trim components and assemblies. This role involves participation in the entire design process—from conceptual model creation to production-level design and detailing.

Key responsibilities include:

• Designing, laying out, and maintainingNX CAD modelsand2D drawings.
• Supporting engineers, design supervisors, design leaders, and other designers as needed.
• Ensuring accuracy and compliance with design standards throughout the development cycle.

This position offers hands-on involvement in the design and development of Body systems, providing an excellent opportunity to build foundational skills in automotive design.

Basic Qualifications:

• Education:
  • Minimum of an high school diploma or equivalent.
• Technical Skills:
  • Minimum of 5 years of training or work experience in NX (Unigraphics) automotive design.
  • Minimum of 5 year of practical knowledge of vehicles and the vehicle assembly process.
  • Basic understanding or coursework on manufacturing processes (e.g., stamping, welding, molding, casting).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Software Skills:
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate degree or higher in Mechanical Design,Engineering Technology, or related field.
• A minimum of 8 Years of Designer Experience
• Experience with Teamcenteror similar PLM systems.
• Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
• Exposure to automotive Body-in-White sheetmetal systemsor related components.
• Exposure to automotive Exterior Trim plasticor related components.
• Ability to work in a collaborative team environmentand communicate effectively.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
