Job summary

The University of Georgia is seeking two Northern Bobwhite Field Technicians for research in Texas. Responsibilities include capturing bobwhites, daily care of captive birds, and conducting fieldwork with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in wildlife management or closely related field.
• Experience with bird handling and radio-telemetry is desired.

Responsibilities

• Capture and handle wild bobwhite.
• Daily animal husbandry of captive bobwhites.
• Conduct radio-telemetry and clearing baiting trap sites.
• Build walk-in funnel cage traps.
• Perform data entry and equipment maintenance.
• Interact with Texas Department of Parks and Wildlife staff.

Skills

Wildlife science degree

Interest in habitat and gamebird management

Positive work ethic

Trailer pulling experience

UTV operation and maintenance

Experience with gamebirds
