Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Welding certification from technical college or trade school.
• 1 year welding experience at similar facility preferred; 6 months in entry welder role at current facility.
• Completion of a formal apprenticeship or in-company training program required.

Responsibilities

• Plan work order procedures and gather required tools/materials.
• Repair and fabricate items using cutting, burning, and welding techniques.
• Monitor welding, burning, and fitting to prevent overheating, warping or distortion.
• Prepare, assemble, and tack weld parts and surfaces to be welded.
• Maintain, organize, and clean equipment and work area.
• Notify supervisor of faulty equipment or defective materials.
• All other duties as assigned.
