Job summary

Capital Sand is hiring a Boat Pilot to join the traveling dredge crew. You will be responsible for the safety of the crew, barge, tow, and cargo during your watch, while navigating on the Missouri River and maintaining equipment.

The role requires a USCG Master of Tow Vessels credential, TWIC, Radar Observer, and Radiotelephone permits, with a rotating 5-day/12-hour shift and on-vessel living arrangements. Competitive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Must possess USCG Master of Tow Vessels Upon Western Rivers.
• TWIC card, Radar Observer Certificate, and Radiotelephone Operator Permit.
• Experience in dredging operations and Missouri River operations is a plus.
• Ability to live on vessel and work a rotating 5-day/12-hour shift schedule.

Responsibilities

• Safely navigate the barge or tow while directing crew in daily tasks.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and USCG regulations on safety, pollution, and drugs/alcohol.
• Maintain navigation equipment, logbooks, and reporting of accidents.
• Investigate accidents and report to main office.
