Job summary

Brunswick Boat Group is hiring a Gun Runner (Foamer) to install flotation foam in boats according to engineering blueprints. You’ll read prints, measure precisely, and operate foam application equipment to meet buoyancy and quality standards on a marine production floor.

This role requires accuracy, hands-on mechanical skills, and the ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment. Training is provided for those with basic math skills and a willingness to learn foam system operation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints or technical drawings.
• Strong basic math skills for measurements and volume calculations.
• Mechanical aptitude with drills, foam guns, and hand tools.
• Ability to stand, bend, reach, and work in confined spaces.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Manufacturing or marine experience preferred (training provided).
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to follow precise instructions.
• Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
• Comfort working with chemicals and industrial equipment.
• Team-oriented with good communication skills.
• Commitment to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and determine foam locations and quantities.
• Drill foam holes in boat areas per print specifications.
• Accurately mix and shoot flotation foam into boats using a foam gun.
• Calculate foam volumes and shot timing based on blueprint requirements.
• Calibrate, test, and adjust foam guns to ensure proper output and consistency.
• Perform basic math calculations to confirm correct foam ratios and quantities.
• Inspect foam fill for completeness and quality; correct deficiencies as needed.
• Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and chemical handling guidelines.
• Maintain equipment and keep work area clean and organized.
• Communicate issues or concerns to supervisors or quality staff.
