Job summary

Friedman Vartolo LLP in New York is seeking a Boarding Paralegal to manage the initial stages of foreclosure cases, including data input, document review, and file management. You will ensure loan data is correctly entered into CaseAware and other systems, process status changes, and handle incoming mail.

Experience with BKFS/Tempo and a background in foreclosure and bankruptcy are preferred. This role can be remote, offering a dynamic, fast-paced environment within a growing firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; relevant experience may substitute.
• Minimum of 2 years in default services, with foreclosure/bankruptcy experience preferred.
• Proficient with CaseAware; BKFS/Tempo familiarity is highly desirable.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize.

The Position

The Boarding Paralegal will be responsible for managing the initial stages of foreclosure cases, including data input, document review, and file management. This role involves ensuring that loan data is accurately entered into CaseAware and other systems, processing status changes, and managing incoming mail. Experience with BKFS/Tempo and a background in both foreclosure and bankruptcy is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and establish new case files and ensure proper organization and categorization of all associated documents.
• Review loan documents received to verify completeness and determine if additional documents are required.
• Input client and case information in the firm's case management system, while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
• Process and update file status changes, ensuring accurate record-keeping.
• Categorize and process incoming mail related to foreclosure and bankruptcy cases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred but relevant experience in the industry will be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in default services, with experience in both foreclosure and bankruptcy preferred.
• Proficiency in CaseAware and familiarity with BKFS/Tempo is highly desirable.
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Capability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
