Job summary

Inchcape is seeking a diligent Operations Coordinator to support port logistics and vessel services in the Hampstead, NC area. You will coordinate vessel requirements, engage vendors, and perform boarding as needed to ensure safe, compliant operations for Principals.

This role requires independence, attention to detail, and strong communication. The position demands onsite work with travel to port locations, and the ability to manage multiple tasks while upholding maritime standards and on-call

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• TWIC certification required.
• Eligible to work in the US.
• Valid driver’s license with vehicle insurance.
• TWIC must be obtained within 30 days of appointment.

Job description

• Exercise discretion and independent judgment on significant operational matters


• Perform office and non-manual work supporting Inchcape’s 24-hours-a-day, 7-days-a-week on-call services for Principals


• Work under the direction of the Operations Manager


• Travel around specified port/terminal locations and surrounding areas

Requirements

• Foundational knowledge of Port Operations and Port Agency services


• Ability to work independently with limited supervision


• Ability to multitask and demonstrate strong initiative


• Ability to exercise independent judgment within established systems and procedures


• Organizational and time management skills


• Ability to prioritize and maintain attention to detail


• High level of accuracy and results-driven approach


• Excellent customer service and communication skills, including strong verbal and listening skills


• Ability to board vessels via gangway and/or pilot ladder alongside berth and over open water


• Ability to climb, ascend, and descend ladders, stairs, and ramps using feet/legs and/or hands/arms


• Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.


• Ability to work in cold, heat, wind, rain, and snow


• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Outlook


• High School diploma or GED equivalent required


• Prior marine agency experience desired but not required


• Eligibility to work in the US


• Reliable transportation


• Valid non-expired state driver’s license


• Vehicle insurance coverage


• Must undergo a federal background check for the TWIC program or already possess a TWIC


• TWIC must be obtained within 30 days of appointment and maintained for the duration of employment
