Job summary

Aeva is seeking an experienced Board Validation and Test Engineer to join our test engineering team in Mountain View. You will drive DFT for high-volume manufacturing, develop test platforms, and bring up boards for engineering validation across product lines.

Qualifications include 7+ years in board bring-up, DFT/ICT/FCT expertise, and strong Python/test automation skills. Expect cross-functional collaboration and opportunities to influence yield and test coverage.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on experience in board bring up and validation.
• DFT experience and strong practical knowledge for ICT and FCT.
• Proficient at reading and critiquing schematics and PCB layouts.
• Deep understanding of analog, digital, power, and mixed-signal systems including boundary scan (JTAG).
• Proven track record of improving yield through DFT and failure analysis learnings.
• Hands-on Python programming for test automation.
• Experience with data analysis using JMP and dashboards.
• Excellent problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Drive PCBA testability (DFT) from schematic and reviews for high-volume manufacturing.
• Develop test platforms for initial bring-up and prototype builds; write test methods.
• Define ICT and FCT requirements for high-volume manufacturing.
• Investigate yield fallout by debugging power, clocks, resets, and mixed-signal paths.
• Correlate ICT/FCT failures with schematic, layout, and silicon performance.
• Use instrumentation to capture elusive failures and document results.
• Create debug playbooks, DFT guidelines, and failure isolation docs.
• Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing to ensure timely delivery at cost efficiency.
