Job summary

TK Elevator in Walnut, MS seeks an experienced Board Repair Technician III to support field maintenance by repairing a broad range of industrial control boards to component level. You will work with VVVF drive teams on three-phase systems up to 675VAC, reading schematics, applying datasheet specs, and testing with various equipment.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in analog/digital board repair, strong soldering skills (through-hole & SMT), and a proactive approach to documentation and procedure

Qualifications

  • Preferred completion of 2-year college, trade school, or military electronics repair program.
  • 5+ years of experience troubleshooting analog and digital circuit boards to component level.
  • Ability to read and follow schematic diagrams and apply datasheet specs.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe work area and wear PPE per policy.
  • Test, troubleshoot, and repair analog and digital circuits to component level.
  • Use oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, signal generators, and other test equipment.
  • Read and follow board and system schematics for analog/digital circuits.
  • Interpret datasheets and apply component specs to circuit requirements.
  • Perform fine pitch soldering/desoldering (through-hole and SMT).
  • Document signal readings and test results to aid development.
  • Create/test strategies for undocumented PCB assemblies.
  • Follow documented test procedures with minimal oversight.
  • Maintain productivity without compromising quality or warranty.

Job description

TK Elevator is currently seeking an experienced Board Repair Technician III in Walnut, MS.

Responsible for supporting our internal field maintenance operation by providing quality printed circuit board repairs. This position will include repairing a very broad spectrum of industrial control circuit boards to component level utilizing a variety of methodologies and cross training to work with the VVVF drive team including three-phase system testing with voltages up to 675VAC.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Must maintain a safe work area to include wearing appropriate PPE and following safety policy.
  • Effectively test, troubleshoot, and repair analog and digital circuits to the component level.
  • Competent knowledge and use of Oscilloscopes, Multimeters, power supplies, signal generators, and other test equipment.
  • Read and follow board and system level schematics for both analog and digital circuits.
  • Interpret datasheets and effectively apply them to circuit operation and diagnostics.
  • Competent fine pitch solder and de-solder skills including through-hole and surface mount soldering/de-soldering.
  • Document signal readings and test results. Document notes to assist personal development and memory.
  • Ability to follow documented test procedures with little oversight.
  • Create/Implement test strategies for undocumented PCB assemblies.
  • Maintain productivity without compromising quality or impacting warranty.
  • Perform basic repairs to test fixtures and simulators.
  • Follow ESD protocols and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • Preferred completion of 2-year college, trade school, or military electronics repair program.
  • 5+ years of experience troubleshooting both analog and digital circuit boards to the component level as primary duty.
  • Ability to read and follow schematic diagrams.
  • Ability to interpret and apply component data specifications to circuit requirements.
  • Ability to perform quality solder and de-solder work on multi-layer circuit boards.
  • Strong desire to develop new skills, and continuously improve existing skills.
  • Experience troubleshooting logic & microprocessor circuits.
  • Experience troubleshooting without schematics.
  • Experience using established test procedures.
  • Competent with computer technology, internet, and MS Enterprise Office software applications.
  • Understanding of Power Systems using 3-Phase Power and high-current components.
