Job summary

Cumulus Media Huntsville, AL is seeking a Part-Time Board Operator to provide programming and control room support. The ideal candidate is organized, reliable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced radio environment.

Responsibilities include running the console, scheduling and playback of commercials, and monitoring weather, traffic, and news updates. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays is required.

Qualifications

• Previous control console operation experience preferred.
• Audio production skills preferred.
• Ability to learn FCC rules and EAS guidelines.
• Proficient with computer systems like Microsoft Office or audio editing software.

Responsibilities

• Run the console in the radio station control room for live or prerecorded programs.
• Play commercials as scheduled and maintain a commercial/transmitter log.
• Monitor weather, traffic, and news reports.
• Monitor for EAS and Amber alerts and breaking news.
• Ensure quality control of on-air programming from master control.

Position Overview

Key Responsibilities & Qualifications

Key Responsibilities:

• Running the console in a radio station control room broadcasting a variety of live or pre-recorded local and syndicated entertainment programs
• Playing all commercials as scheduled and maintaining a commercial and transmitter log
• Monitors and updates weather, traffic, and news reports
• Monitor for EAS Alerts, Ambers Alerts and breaking news
• Monitors the technical quality and accuracy of incoming and outgoing on-air programming from master control room

Qualifications:

• Previous control console operation experience preferred
• Audio production skills preferred
• Ability to learn FCC rules and regulations and EAS guidelines
• Proficient using computer systems such as Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Audition or other audio editing software preferred
• Familiar with audio mixers preferred
• Flexibility in scheduling required; majority of the hours are in the evenings, weekends and holidays

Pay Range

USD $12.00 - USD $15.00 /Hr.
