Job summary

Cumulus Media in Dallas is seeking a Full-Time Chief Technical Board Operator/Producer for WBAP and KLIF. The candidate should be self-motivated, organized, and able to work with the program director and sales team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include operating the control room, ensuring timely air of commercials, editing audio, producing shows, managing podcasts and social media, and occasionally supervising other operators. Weekend and holiday availability is required.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years radio experience at college or small market.
• Knowledge of current news and daily hit stories.
• Familiarity with radio control room equipment such as broadcast console, Vox Pro, EAS systems and related gear.
• Ability to think quickly and make good decisions under pressure.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work weekends, weekend nights, overnights and holidays if needed.

Position Overview

CUMULUS MEDIA | Dallas is offering a great opportunity for a Full-Time Chief Technical Board Operator/Producer for WBAP and KLIF. Our ideal candidate should possess an extremely good work ethic, is a self-starter, reliable, and highly organized with the ability to work in a fast-paced office environment and be able to work closely with the program director to execute programming and be accessible to the sales department if needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Running the broadcast console in the radio control room with the purpose of putting content on the air seamlessly and ensuring all Station Policies and Procedures are followed and all FCC requirements are met on a daily basis.
• Ensuring that all commercial materials air as logged
• Audio editing, station or show production.
• Producing Mid-day and afternoon show on WBAP.
• Podcasting and station social media management
• Filling in on other shifts from time to time as needed
• Help in supervising board operators.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years radio experience either at the college or smaller market level
• Candidates must have a knowledge of news and know the hit stories of the day.
• Have a good understanding of all equipment in a radio control room including but not limited to the broadcast console and related digital audio systems, call screening, Vox Pro, EAS Systems, broadcast delay, and any remote delivery equipment
• Must be able to think quickly and make good decisions in a high pressure, fast paced environment
• Must be able to get along with and work closely with other employees
• Excellent communication skills are a must, including writing and grammar
• Candidates must be reliable, responsible, and punctual and must be able to work weekends, weekend nights, overnights and holidays if needed

Pay Range

USD $35,000.00 - USD $45,000.00 /Yr.
