Job summary

Hyve Solutions in Fremont, CA, seeks a hands-on hardware design engineer to contribute to high-performance server boards from schematic capture to validation. You will work closely with senior engineers on design reviews and bring-up activities, applying board-level methodologies and collaborating across multiple engineering disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• 1-4 years of hardware design, board design, validation, internship, or co-op experience.
• Fundamental understanding of digital and analog circuit design principles.
• Experience with schematic capture tools and exposure to PCB layout processes.
• Familiarity with laboratory equipment including oscilloscopes, digital multimeters (DMMs), logic analyzers, and power supplies.
• Understanding of high-speed interfaces such as PCIe, DDR memory, or related technologies.
• Knowledge of power delivery fundamentals and basic signal integrity concepts.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and willingness to learn in a fast- paced engineering environment.

Responsibilities

• Board-Level Design Support: Assist with schematic capture, component selection, and design reviews.
• Support PCB layout reviews and ensure adherence to guidelines.
• Learn and apply board-level design methodologies for high-performance server systems.
• Board Bring-Up & Validation: participate in bring-up activities during development cycles.
• Execute validation and qualification test plans throughout EVT, DVT, and PVT phases.
• Collect, document, and analyze bench test data to support engineering decisions.
• Documentation & Configuration Management: maintain BOMs, schematics, ECs, and design docs.
• Ensure documentation accuracy and proper revision control.
• Support release-to-manufacturing activities and engineering documentation updates.
• Debug & Root Cause Analysis: diagnose hardware issues at board and system level.
• Support root-cause analysis and track corrective actions through closure.
• Utilize laboratory equipment to validate designs and verify hardware functionality.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration with SI/PI, thermal, power, layout, manufacturing, validation teams.
• Participate in design reviews and learn industry best practices for server hardware development.
• Support engineering activities throughout the product lifecycle from concept through production.
