Job summary

Memphis Veterinary Specialists seeks a Board Certified or Residency Trained Oncologist to join our multi-specialty veterinary center in Memphis, TN. You will work with skilled veterinarians and staff, delivering high-quality cancer care and building strong client relationships.

You will collaborate with the Hospital Manager and Regional Manager, participate in rounds, and contribute to ongoing clinical excellence while supporting a culture of teamwork and compassionate care.

Qualifications

• DVM or VMD from an accredited college or university.
• 1-year rotational internship in small animal medicine, surgery, ER.
• 3-year AVMA approved residency completed.
• Current State Veterinary License.
• DEA registration obtained and maintained.
• Strong diagnostic and clinical skills.
• Team-oriented with excellent communication.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient exams and medical work-ups.
• Communicate with clients and provide education.
• Maintain accurate medical records.
• Prescribe medications and follow controlled substance protocols.
• Promote teamwork and staff efficiency.
• Collaborate with Hospital Manager on weekly priorities.
• Monitor hospital protocols from intake to discharge.
• Attend daily rounds when possible to ensure high standards.
