PetVet Care Centers in Ventura, CA seeks a Board Certified or Residency Trained Oncologist to join a 24-hour specialty and emergency referral hospital. You will provide high-quality veterinary care, collaborate with a skilled team, and support clients with clear communication and compassion.

The hospital is equipped with ultrasound, C-Arm, CT, MRI, and advanced radiology, backed by radiologists for interpretation, with a focus on team-based care and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• DVM or VMD degree from an accredited college or university.
• 1-year rotational internship in small animal medicine, surgery, ER.
• Completed a 3-year AVMA-approved residency program.
• Current State Veterinary License.
• DEA registration must be obtained and maintained.
• Strong diagnostic and clinical skills.
• Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Commitment to compassionate, high-quality veterinary care.

Responsibilities

• Comprehensive patient exams and medical work-ups.
• Client communication and education.
• Maintaining accurate medical records.
• Pharmacy duties including prescribing medications and following controlled substance protocols.
• Promote teamwork and staff efficiency.
• Collaborate with Hospital Manager on weekly priorities.
• Evaluate and monitor hospital protocols from intake to discharge.
• Attend daily rounds to uphold high standards.
