PetVet Care Centers’ Veterinary Specialty Center of Tucson is seeking a compassionate and skilled Board Certified or Residency Trained Small Animal Surgeon to join our 24-hour specialty and emergency referral hospital in Tucson, AZ. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality veterinary care with strong communication skills and teamwork, working with experienced veterinarians, technicians, and staff.

We offer a generous base salary with a production plan, sign-on bonus, and relocation

Qualifications

• DVM or VMD from an accredited college or university.
• 1-year rotational internship in small animal medicine, surgery, ER.
• Completed a 3-year AVMA approved residency program.
• Current State Veterinary License.
• DEA registration must be obtained and maintained.
• Strong diagnostic and clinical skills.
• Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
• Excellent communication with staff and clients.
• Commitment to compassionate, high-quality veterinary care.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Comprehensive patient exams and medical work-ups.
• Client communication and education.
• Maintaining accurate medical records.
• Prescribing medications and following controlled substance protocols.
• Promote teamwork and staff efficiency.
• Collaborate with Hospital Manager on weekly priorities.
• Evaluate and monitor hospital protocols from intake to discharge.
• Monitor cases and participate in daily rounds when possible.
• Support practice management updates and training.
