Job summary

WakeMed Physician Practices' Pediatric Surgery division seeks a board-certified or board-eligible Pediatric Surgeon to join a growing, highly respected pediatric surgical practice serving infants, children, and adolescents across Wake County and surrounding communities.

The selected physician will provide comprehensive surgical care, ranging from routine pediatric procedures to complex surgical conditions, while collaborating closely with pediatric specialists, advanced practice providers,

Qualifications

• Board-certified or board-eligible pediatric surgeon.
• Experience caring for neonates to adolescents.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat pediatric surgical conditions in newborns, infants, children, and adolescents.
• Perform a broad spectrum of pediatric surgical procedures, including elective, urgent, and emergency surgeries.
• Provide pre-operative, operative, and post-operative patient management.
• Participate in hospital call coverage and inpatient consultations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary pediatric specialists and care teams.
• Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation in the electronic medical record.
• Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and clinical excellence initiatives.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and postoperative care.
• Support teaching opportunities for medical students, residents, and advanced practice providers.
