Dane Street is an Independent Review Organization and a national provider of Utilization Review services, expanding our physician panel for non-traditional work and supplemental income. This telework opportunity offers physicians a caseload tailored to your schedule.
Our physician panel consists of independent contract reviewers (1099), paid per case. We seek board-certified Neurological Surgeons with active California licenses and experience in the California Independent Medical Review (IMR) process. IMR acts as a binding appeals process for disputes related to workers' compensation treatment denials or modifications, streamlining the resolution process since July 1, 2013.
In California's workers' compensation system, all treatment requests undergo utilization review to assess medical necessity. Denials, delays, or modifications due to lack of necessity can be appealed through IMR, conducted by physicians evaluating cases using evidence-based guidelines.
IMR physicians should be experts in the Medical Treatment Utilization Schedule (MTUS), Official Disability Guidelines (ODG), and medicolegal writing, articulating clear, evidence-based determinations.
