Job summary

Essen Health Care seeks a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Hematologist to join our growing team. The physician will diagnose, treat, and manage patients with blood disorders and malignancies in outpatient and inpatient settings, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.

You will participate in call coverage, develop treatment plans including chemotherapy and transfusion management, and maintain accurate EMRs while educating patients and families.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Board Certification/Eligibility in Hematology (ABIM).
• Valid New York State medical license (or eligibility).
• Strong clinical skills and evidence-based medicine.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of hematologic conditions.
• Order and interpret laboratory tests, bone marrow biopsies, imaging studies, and other diagnostic evaluations.
• Develop individualized treatment plans, including chemotherapy, transfusion management, and anticoagulation therapy.
• Collaborate with oncologists, pathologists, radiologists, primary care providers, and other specialists.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Educate patients and families regarding disease processes, treatment options, and preventive strategies.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and complete electronic medical records.
• Participate in call coverage as required.
