Behavior Instruction Support Specialist (BCBA)

Location

The Day School at The Children’s Institute, 1405 Shady Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15217

Entry-Level Salary

$47,456/year, with additional compensation based on experience

Schedule

Full-time, Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 3:30 pm. This is a 10-month position.

About The Team

The Day School is an approved private school licensed by the Pennsylvania Bureau of Private Academic Schools and approved as a special education school by the Pennsylvania Department of Education. We serve nearly 200 students from over 60 school districts across western Pennsylvania each year, providing specialized education and related services, including autism support and support for multiple disabilities.

About The Position

The Behavior Instruction Support Specialist (BCBA) collaborates with teachers and staff to plan, develop, and implement instructional and behavioral strategies for our students.

Responsibilities
  1. Collaborate with teachers and team members to develop effective instructional and behavioral strategies.
  2. Train and work with staff and students on crisis management strategies.
  3. Assist Educational Supervisors in identifying classroom behavioral and instructional needs.
  4. Develop and suggest instructional techniques and procedures for staff.
  5. Organize professional in-service training for educational staff.
Qualifications
  1. Master’s degree in special education or related field.
  2. Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification.
  3. At least three years of experience in special education.
  4. Experience with educational/behavioral procedures and teacher training.
  5. Act 33/34 Clearances; FBI Clearance.
