Job summary

Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)

Position Summary

The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is responsible for conducting assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, supervising clinical staff, and ensuring high-quality ABA services are delivered to clients and their families. The BCBA works closely with the Clinical Director of Services and plays a key role in supporting client progress, staff development, and clinical excellence.

Reports To: Clinical Director of Services / Senior Clinical Director of Services

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Assessment & Treatment Planning

• Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and other relevant clinical evaluations.
• Administer and interpret verbal behavior assessments, including VB-MAPP and ABLLS-R.
• Develop, implement, and oversee individualized behavior intervention plans and treatment programs.
• Monitor client progress and make data-driven modifications to treatment plans as needed.
• Ensure all clinical recommendations align with BACB ethical standards and best practices.

Clinical Supervision & Staff Development

• Provide ongoing supervision, coaching, and training to Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs).
• Conduct competency assessments and performance feedback for direct-care staff.
• Ensure treatment integrity through regular observation and supervision sessions.
• Support professional development and clinical growth of team members.

Family Collaboration

• Conduct parent and caregiver training sessions.
• Provide regular updates regarding client progress and treatment recommendations.
• Collaborate with families to ensure consistency of interventions across environments.

Documentation & Compliance

• Complete all assessments, treatment plans, progress reports, and clinical documentation within required deadlines.
• Ensure service notes and clinical records are accurate, complete, and compliant with payer and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, BACB, and organizational standards.
• Report emergencies, incidents, and crisis situations immediately to leadership.

Leadership & Team Support

• Collaborate with the Clinical Director of Services regarding client care and clinical operations.
• Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and organizational initiatives.
• Assist with projects and requests assigned by clinical leadership.
• Contribute positively to a collaborative and supportive work environment.

Required Qualifications

• Current Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification.
• Ability to maintain BCBA certification in good standing.
• Strong knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and methodologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Performance Review Schedule

Performance evaluations are conducted every six months during the first year of employment and annually thereafter.
