Connecticut Behavioral Services is seeking a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to provide high-quality ABA services to clients with developmental and behavioral needs. The role emphasizes ethical, evidence-based ABA delivery with data-driven decision making and meaningful client outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree or higher in ABA/related field.
  • Current BCBA certification with BACB.
  • Active state licensure or eligibility where services are provided.
  • Experience providing ABA services to children/adolescents preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of assessment, intervention, data analysis, and ABA practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; collaborative approach.

Responsibilities

  • Assess clients via functional assessments and skills assessments.

Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) – Job Description

Position Summary

The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is responsible for providing high-quality applied behavior analytic services to clients with developmental and behavioral needs. The BCBA will conduct assessments, develop and implement individualized treatment plans, supervise behavior technicians, analyze clinical data, and collaborate with families, schools, and other members of the client's treatment team.

The BCBA is expected to provide ethical, evidence-based ABA services while ensuring that treatment is individualized, data-driven, clinically appropriate, and focused on meaningful outcomes for each client.

Essential Responsibilities

Assessment & Treatment Planning

Conduct functional behavior assessments, skills assessments, and other appropriate behavioral assessments.

Develop individualized behavior intervention plans and skill-acquisition programs based on assessment results.

Establish measurable treatment goals and objectives.

Review and analyze clinical data to evaluate treatment effectiveness.

Modify interventions based on client progress and ongoing data analysis.

Prepare clinical documentation, progress reports, reassessments, and other required documentation.

Direct Clinical Services

Provide direct and indirect ABA services based on the client's treatment plan.

Implement evidence-based behavior analytic interventions.

Teach communication, social, adaptive, academic-readiness, self-management, and other functional skills.

Address challenging behaviors through function-based interventions.

Promote generalization and maintenance of acquired skills across people, settings, and environments.

Supervision & Staff Development

Provide ongoing supervision and clinical guidance to RBTs, BTs, and other direct-care staff.

Observe staff implementing treatment programs and provide performance feedback.

Conduct competency-based training as appropriate.

Ensure staff implement programs according to the treatment plan.

Monitor treatment fidelity and address implementation concerns.

Complete required supervision documentation in accordance with applicable BACB, payer, and state requirements.

Parent/Caregiver Training

Provide individualized caregiver training and consultation.

Teach caregivers strategies for promoting skill acquisition and reducing challenging behavior.

Collaborate with caregivers to promote consistency across home and community environments.

Monitor caregiver implementation and provide ongoing feedback.

Collaboration

Collaborate with parents, caregivers, teachers, school personnel, related service providers, and other professionals involved in the client's care.

Participate in treatment team meetings and school consultations when appropriate.

Communicate clinical recommendations clearly and professionally.

Advocate for client needs while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.

Documentation & Compliance

Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.

Complete session notes, supervision notes, treatment-plan updates, progress reports, and other required documentation.

Maintain compliance with BACB ethical standards, applicable state regulations, payer requirements, and company policies.

Protect client confidentiality and maintain HIPAA compliance.

Maintain appropriate professional and clinical boundaries.

Qualifications

Master's degree or higher in Applied Behavior Analysis, Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, or a related field.

Current BCBA certification through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).

Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure in the state(s) where services are provided, when applicable.

Experience providing ABA services to children and/or adolescents preferred.

Strong knowledge of behavioral assessment, behavior intervention, skill acquisition, data analysis, and evidence-based ABA practices.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with families, schools, and multidisciplinary teams.

Ability to manage multiple cases and meet documentation requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience conducting Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs).

Experience developing and supervising individualized ABA treatment programs.

Experience working within in home and community settings.

Experience training and supervising RBTs.

Experience with electronic ABA data collection and clinical management platforms.

Experience working with children with developmental disabilities and/or autism spectrum disorder.
