Job summary

Parsons Preschool is seeking a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to provide evidence-based behavioral assessment, intervention, and consultation across educational settings for students with disabilities and behavioral challenges.

You will collaborate with administrators, teachers, and families to develop individualized behavior support plans that promote academic achievement and social-emotional growth, while ensuring safe, inclusive classrooms and compliant documentation.

Qualifications

  • BCBA certification required.
  • NY licensure where applicable.
  • Master's degree in ABA, psychology, education, or related field.
  • Experience with children in educational settings, especially autism spectrum disorders.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct FBAs and develop BIPs following federal, state, and NYC DOE guidelines.
  • Analyze behavioral data and design, implement, and monitor interventions.
  • Provide coaching, training, and PD to teachers, paraprofessionals, and staff on ABA principles.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support student success.
  • Monitor intervention effectiveness via data collection and progress checks.
  • Attend CSE meetings and contribute to IEP development with behavioral expertise.
  • Support crisis prevention and create safe, inclusive learning environments.
  • Maintain accurate documentation per BACB ethics and NYC DOE policies.
  • Engage families with education and resources to support students at home and school.

Job description

Parsons Preschool is looking for a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) who provides evidence-based behavioral assessment, intervention, and consultation services to students with disabilities and behavioral challenges across educational settings. The BCBA collaborates with school administrators, teachers, related service providers, and families to develop and implement individualized behavior support plans that promote academic achievement, social‑emotional development, and positive behavioral outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and develop Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) in accordance with federal, state, and NYC DOE regulations.
  • Analyze behavioral data and use evidence-based practices to design, implement, and monitor interventions for students with diverse learning and behavioral needs.
  • Provide coaching, consultation, and professional development to teachers, paraprofessionals, and school staff regarding behavior management strategies and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including special education teachers, school psychologists, speech therapists, occupational therapists, and administrators to support student success.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of behavioral interventions through ongoing data collection, progress monitoring, and program evaluation.
  • Participate in Committee on Special Education (CSE) meetings and contribute behavioral expertise to Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Support crisis prevention and intervention strategies while promoting safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environments.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, case records, and reports in compliance with NYC DOE policies and ethical standards established by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
  • Engage families by providing education, resources, and behavioral strategies to support students across school and home settings.
Qualifications
  • Current certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
  • New York State licensure, where applicable.
  • Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, or a related field.
  • Experience working with children and adolescents in educational settings, particularly students with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental or behavioral disabilities.
  • Strong knowledge of ABA methodologies, behavioral assessment techniques, and special education laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, organizational, and data analysis skills.
