Position summary

The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is responsible for designing, implementing, and supervising individualized therapy programs for individuals receiving Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services. These programs aim to improve daily functioning, independence, and overall quality of life. The BCBA utilizes evidence‑based ABA strategies—such as positive reinforcement, shaping, prompt fading, and task analysis—to create effective behavior intervention and skill acquisition plans tailored to each client. In addition to clinical responsibilities, the BCBA provides ongoing supervision of Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), ensuring high‑quality service delivery, adherence to treatment plans, and professional growth. This role includes overseeing data collection systems, analyzing behavior data to monitor client progress, and making data‑driven decisions in collaboration with families and care teams.

Essential duties and responsibilities
  • Lead cross‑functional teams in support of the client's treatment plan.
  • Administer assessments (e.g., ABLS‑RR, AFLS) and create goals based on the assessments.
  • Assess the individual's performance and implement treatment based on established goals, including Functional Behavior Assessment, Behavior Support Plans, and Behavior Reduction Plans.
  • Serve, communicate, and consult as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Provide training and education to staff, caregivers, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide feedback and ongoing support to RBTs.
  • Participate in ongoing treatment meetings, staff meetings, and professional development opportunities.
  • Provide direct supervision to RBTs in accordance with BACB standards, including observation, performance feedback, competency assessments, and guidance to ensure effective and ethical implementation of behavior‑analytic services.
  • Promote a positive safety culture and follow safe work practices and policies.
Skills and abilities
  • Language skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret a wide range of documents and to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Mathematical skills: Basic arithmetic, rate, ratio, percent, bar graph interpretation, and elementary algebra.
  • Computer skills: Proficient in Set Works, DBA, Vertex, Fleet Maintenance Pro, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Spend Map, KRONOS WFR, and CHS Dashboard.

Qualifications

Required education and experience:

  • BCBA certification required (or within three months of becoming certified).
  • Meeting supervisor requirements through the BACB.
  • Licensed or able to seek licensure through the State of Missouri.
  • Credentialed or eligible through private insurance companies.
  • Excellent Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license and proof of personal vehicle insurance.
  • TB assessment and/or requirements.

Preferred experience:

  • Supervisory experience.
