Job summary

Qualifications

  • Current and active BCBA certification through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
  • Master's degree in behavior analysis, psychology, education, or a related field consistent with BCBA requirements.
  • Experience providing ABA services.
  • Experience supervising or working with RBTs or other ABA support staff.
  • Ability to meet applicable payer and client-service requirements.
  • Ability to successfully complete required background checks and onboarding requirements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical oversight of ABA services, including behavioral assessment, treatment planning, data analysis, progress monitoring, and supervision of RBTs.

Position Summary

The BCBA will provide clinical oversight of ABA services, including behavioral assessment, treatment planning, data analysis, progress monitoring, family collaboration, and supervision of RBTs.

The BCBA will be responsible for ensuring services are individualized, ethical, data-driven, and consistent with applicable professional, payer, and organizational requirements.

The ideal candidate is clinically strong, highly organized, proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working independently while maintaining clear communication and collaboration with CIH leadership and team members.

Essential Responsibilities
Clinical Services
  • Conduct and/or oversee appropriate behavioral assessments.
  • Develop individualized, evidence-based ABA treatment plans.
  • Establish measurable treatment goals and objectives.
  • Develop behavior-support and skill-acquisition programming based on client needs.
  • Analyze client data and modify programming when clinically indicated.
  • Monitor client progress and treatment effectiveness.
  • Provide clinical direction and support to RBTs.
  • Conduct required supervision in accordance with applicable BACB and payer requirements.
  • Observe treatment sessions and provide clinical feedback and coaching.
  • Address clinical barriers and develop appropriate solutions.
  • Participate in case reviews and clinical consultations.
RBT Supervision & Team Collaboration
  • Provide appropriate clinical supervision to RBTs assigned to cases.
  • Monitor implementation of treatment plans.
  • Review clinical data and documentation.
  • Provide constructive feedback and coaching.
  • Identify training and professional-development needs.
  • Communicate clinical concerns to appropriate CIH leadership.
  • Promote ethical, respectful, and collaborative clinical practices.
Parent/Guardian & Family Collaboration
  • Establish professional and trusting relationships with clients and their parents/guardians and families.
  • Collaborate with families regarding treatment goals, progress, and appropriate strategies.
  • Provide caregiver/parent education and training when clinically appropriate.
  • Respond to family concerns professionally and within appropriate clinical boundaries.
  • Explain clinical recommendations clearly and respectfully.
  • Incorporate trauma-informed and culturally responsive practices into service delivery.
Documentation & Compliance
  • Complete assessments, treatment plans, progress documentation, and required clinical records within established timelines.
  • Maintain accurate client data and clinical documentation.
  • Support payer authorization and reauthorization requirements.
  • Ensure documentation supports services provided and treatment recommendations.
  • Follow HIPAA, BACB ethical requirements, payer requirements, and applicable CIH policies.
  • Promptly report incidents, safety concerns, compliance concerns, and other significant events through established procedures.
Program Development
  • Identifying opportunities to improve clinical processes and service delivery.
  • Recommending appropriate clinical resources, tools, and workflows.
  • Helping develop resources and materials for RBTs and families.
  • Identifying barriers to effective treatment or continuity of care.
  • Researching potential solutions and bringing recommendations forward.
  • Contributing ideas for client programming and family engagement.
  • Supporting the development of sustainable clinical systems.
  • Participating in appropriate case and program meetings.
Independence & Problem-Solving

The ideal BCBA is comfortable working independently and taking ownership of their responsibilities.

  • Experience with insurance authorizations and payer documentation.
  • Experience developing clinical workflows, resources, or training materials.
  • Experience providing parent/guardian or family training.
  • Experience working with diverse populations and families.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently identify and solve clinical or program-related problems.
