Job summary

BMW Group in Kailua-Kona, HI, seeks a Regular Full-Time Automotive Technician to diagnose, repair and maintain BMW and MINI vehicles in accordance with manufacturer standards. You will participate in factory training and stay updated with technical bulletins.

Responsibilities include diagnosing malfunctions, communicating with Parts, documenting work, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. ASE certifications and Hawaii Safety Check must be obtained.

Qualifications

  • Diagnose, repair and maintain BMW and MINI vehicles per manufacturer and center standards.
  • Promote and attain BMW and MINI standards for superior workmanship.

Responsibilities

  • Perform work as described on repair order with efficiency and accuracy per BMW standards.
  • Diagnose the cause of vehicle malfunctions and recommend/perform repairs.
  • Communicate with Parts Department to obtain replacement parts.
  • Notify if additional work is needed or if repairs cannot be completed as promised.
  • Document all work performed and road test vehicles as required.
  • Attend and complete factory training as required by factory or center.
  • Keep abreast of factory technical bulletins.
  • Obtain Hawaii Safety Check Certification and all ASE Certificates.
  • Follow warranty material disposition procedures.
  • Understand and follow regulations governing disposal of hazardous waste.
  • Maintain order and cleanliness of customer cars and work areas.
  • Account for tools and equipment; return them in good condition.
  • Meet all requirements of state and federal law on auto repair and consumer protection.
  • Supervise any apprentice technicians as assigned.
