• Assist in the development and maintenance of general policies for a fiscal program.
• Coordinate use of the computerized accounting system for the program area.
• Certify the accuracy of financial records and accounts.
• Analyze and interprets financial statements and reports.
• Control the flow of appropriated funds.
• Interact with, and respond to, state and federal audit representatives.

Role Overview:

The BMV Accountant conducts a varity of general accounting functions for BMV Financial Operations. You will prepare, analyze, and maintain accounts or ledgers. Experience with PeopleSoft Financials is not required, but is a plus.

This is an onsite role in the central BMV Financial Operations Department at the Indiana Government Center in Indianapolis, Indiana.

A Day in the Life:

The essential functions of this role are:

• Advise the supervisor of the status of all accounts.

• Reconcile complex discrepancies between accounts.
• Interact with, and respond to, state and federal audit representatives.
