Job summary

SR Staffing is seeking a BMS Software Engineer for a leading battery technology client in the Houston area. The role focuses on BMS software architectures, model-based control, embedded C, and validation for next-generation high-voltage battery systems.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, apply MATLAB/Simulink, pursue automotive safety standards ASPICE and ISO 26262, and contribute to software validation, testing, and optimization to improve performance, reliability, and safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science or equivalent.
• 3+ years of professional experience with high-voltage batteries and BMS
• Strong experience with MATLAB/Simulink and model-based function development
• Strong knowledge of Embedded C and embedded software development
• Experience developing BMS software architectures and application-layer software
• Hands-on experience with software validation, testing, debugging, calibration, and optimization
• Experience with automated software testing and MISRA

Responsibilities

• Develop BMS software architectures and application-layer software for battery systems.

• Strong knowledge of Embedded C and embedded software development
• Experience developing BMS software architectures and application-layer software
• Hands-on experience with software validation, testing, debugging, calibration, and optimization
• Experience developing, optimizing, and parameterizing BMS application software for battery system applications
• Experience with automated software testing and MISRA development practices
• Experience with continuous integration tools and processes such as Jenkins
• Understanding of high-voltage lithium-ion battery systems and BMS functionality
• Experience with Automotive SPICE (ASPICE) is preferred
• Experience with ISO 26262 functional safety is preferred
• Ability to evaluate and implement new software technologies, development methods, and software process improvements
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to support product commissioning, troubleshooting, and optimization
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across interdisciplinary and international engineering teams
