Banner Health in Mesa, Arizona is seeking a hands-on BMS Plant Mechanic to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain Building Management Systems, boilers, chillers and other plant equipment. You will work with ROC and local Facilities teams to ensure safe, reliable operations across the hospital campus.

Join our team as a BMS Plant Mechanic and help keep critical hospital systems operating at their best. In this hands‑on role, you’ll troubleshoot, repair, and maintain Building Management Systems (BMS) along with boilers, chillers, generators, and other essential plant equipment. Working with our Remote Operations Center (ROC) and local Facilities teams, you’ll play a key role in ensuring reliable, safe, and efficient facility operations.
Schedule: 7AM to 3:30PM working Monday through Friday (shift may vary depending on patient care needs).
This position works closely with the ROC BMS Technicians and BMS Analysts to repair, adjust, and calibrate field hardware within the building control systems. The role may include field service or remote servicing of the BMS across the organization and coordination with facilities staff and construction partners. It involves preventative and corrective work on plant equipment, reviewing construction documents, and ensuring code compliance.
Requires three or more years of diversified work experience as a plant mechanic, stationary engineer, boiler operator, or refrigeration mechanic with advanced skills in plant operations.
High school diploma/GED or equivalent, vocational or technical training, working knowledge of utility and infrastructure systems common to healthcare, independent decision making, safety compliance, ability to read and understand maintenance and construction documents, valid driver’s license, excellent verbal and written communication, and proficiency with plant computer software.
Working knowledge and certification of applicable regulatory codes and building codes; previous construction experience; additional related education and/or experience preferred.
