Job summary

The University of Southern California is seeking a BMS Operator to join the Facilities Planning & Management team. The role focuses on HVAC control and building management systems to diagnose and correct issues across air handlers and chillers, coordinating with HVAC technicians to maintain optimal performance.

You will monitor alarms, adjust system parameters, generate reports, and help ensure secure, reliable building operations in a high-demand university environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree; 1 year of experience in DDC building controls systems preferred.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and building controls.
• Experience with troubleshooting and responding to alarms.

Responsibilities

• TROUBLESHOOT and diagnose HVAC and BMS related issues, including air handlers and chillers.
• Coordinate with HVAC technicians to facilitate repairs and maintenance.
• Monitor BMS input/output and ensure data accuracy and currency.
• Issue work orders and communicate with maintenance staff on corrective actions.
• Prepare management reports and contribute to system standards and procedures.
