Job summary
Vertiv is seeking a BMS Engineer to design and execute temperature control and automation systems across HVAC and industrial automation applications. You will lead cross-discipline coordination, develop PLC-based solutions, and create SCADA/HMI interfaces while ensuring compliance with specifications and build standards.
Responsibilities include system layouts, PLC architectures, programming, O&M documentation, and commissioning support.
Qualifications
- Two- or four-year degree in Engineering or related technical field.
- Experience designing control systems for HVAC or industrial automation.
- Hands-on PLC hardware selection, configuration, and ladder/structured text programming.
- Experience configuring SCADA/HMI systems with alarms and trends.
- Knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, Ethernet/IP or similar.
- Ability to read mechanical/electrical drawings and CAD drawings.
Responsibilities
- Develop system layouts and control designs from docs and specs.
- Design PLC architectures, panels, power, network, and I/O.
- Develop and troubleshoot PLC programs and SCADA/HMI for monitoring and control.
- Prepare design submittals, as-built drawings, and O&M docs.
- Coordinate submittals and equipment data sheets.
- Ensure designs meet contract drawings and specs.
- Select appropriate control devices and instrumentation.
- Develop custom HMI graphics for building automation and SCADA.
- Support commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting with project teams.
