Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a BMS Engineer to design and execute temperature control and automation systems, including PLC and SCADA-based solutions. You will collaborate with electrical, power, and instrumentation teams to deliver complete design packages for HVAC, access control, lighting, CCTV, and industrial automation projects.

You will lead PLC programming, SCADA/HMI development, and integration efforts, with travel and hands-on CAD involvement, ensuring designs meet contract specs and deliver

Qualifications

• A 2- to 4-year degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related technical discipline.
• Experience designing control systems for commercial HVAC or industrial automation applications.
• Hands-on experience with PLC hardware selection, configuration, and programming.
• Experience configuring SCADA/HMI systems with alarms, trends, and operator interfaces.
• Knowledge of industrial protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, Ethernet/IP.
• Ability to read mechanical, electrical, and architectural drawings.
• Experience using CAD software.

Responsibilities

• Develop system layouts and controls designs based on construction documents and project specs.
• Design PLC architectures, control panel layouts, power distribution, network topology, and I/O assignments.
• Develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC programs and SCADA/HMI apps for monitoring and control.
• Prepare design submittals, as-built drawings, and O&M documentation.
• Coordinate equipment submittals and O&M package assembly.
