Job summary

Ford Motor Company seeks an experienced engineer to own Design Release for BMS assemblies, manage BOM accuracy, and oversee cost and packaging decisions. You will coordinate supplier delivery and drive program timing from concept to production launch, ensuring quality and traceability across the field.

You will lead DFMEA/DVPR activities, support warranty and field investigations, and collaborate with global suppliers to meet program milestones and risk reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field is required.
• 7+ years engineering experience with design and release accountability.
• Ownership of engineering release and change control for production hardware.
• Experience with DFMEA, DVPR, control plan, SCCAF.
• Experience with warranty and field issue resolution.
• Experience collaborating with suppliers on technical deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Own Design Release, BOM ownership, cost and mass commitments, and packaging.
• Define service part strategy, labeling, and traceability requirements.
• Own prototype demand planning and manufacturing launch through ramp.
• Lead warranty investigations, plant returns, and failure analysis.
• Drive supplier technical delivery and APQP/PPAP processes.
• Manage gate readiness, go/no-go decisions, and risk reporting.
• Represent BMS work stream in technical reviews and lessons learned.
• Drive program timing and critical path for hardware and software deliverables.
