Qualifications

• Strong expertise in BMS, controls engineering, and IoT-connected building technologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and execution of smart building and building automation strategies across a complex corporate environment.
• Oversee BMS connectivity, controls integration, and operational performance.
• Drive Fault Detection & Diagnostics (FDD) initiatives to improve reliability, energy efficiency, and predictive maintenance.
• Manage lifecycle planning, performance, and optimization of critical building assets and infrastructure.
• Provide technical leadership across BMS, controls, network-connected devices, and smart building technologies.
• Develop standards, processes, and governance around building systems, cybersecurity compliance, and operational resilience.
• Partner with senior stakeholders to deliver strategic engineering initiatives and long-term capital improvement programs.
• Oversee project delivery, ensuring milestones, budgets, and objectives are achieved.
• Manage external vendors, technology partners, and specialist contractors.

This is a highly visible leadership position, responsible for driving digital building initiatives, asset lifecycle planning, controls optimization, and the long-term evolution of building automation systems.

The Role

As the BAS Controls Manager, you'll:

• Lead the development and execution of smart building and building automation strategies across a complex corporate environment.

You

To be successful in the role of BAS Controls Manager, you'll bring:

• 10+ years of experience within Building Automation Systems, Controls Engineering, Facilities Engineering, or Smart Buildings.
• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Building Services, or a related technical discipline (required).
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing technical engineering, controls, or smart building teams.
• Strong expertise in Building Management Systems (BMS), controls engineering, and IoT-connected building technologies.
• Hands-on experience with Automated Logic Controls (ALC) systems.
• Knowledge of network infrastructure, controls integration, and cybersecurity requirements within building environments.
• Experience delivering Fault Detection & Diagnostics (FDD) programs and data-driven building performance initiatives.
• Strong understanding of asset lifecycle management, capital planning, and maintenance strategies.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage senior leadership and present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience managing vendors, consultants, contractors, and strategic projects.
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensure or equivalent technical certifications would be advantageous.
