Job summary

QPS Employment Group in Houston, TX seeks a Structural Assembler for 1st shift. Wage is $20.00-$21.00/hour, hours 5:30am-4:00pm, Monday-Thursday. This is an opportunity for hire in a manufacturing setting.

You will read blueprints, assemble frames and components, use hand and power tools, and ensure quality and safety in a fast-paced environment. Team collaboration with welders and fitters is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in structural assembly, fabrication, or related hands-on trade.
• Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and work instructions.
• Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Ability to pass required background checks.
• U.S. work authorization without sponsorship required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Experience with electrical equipment, switchgear, or packaged equipment is a plus.
• Welding or fitting experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and job specifications to determine assembly requirements.
• Measure, mark, cut, fit, and assemble structural components according to drawings and specifications
• Assemble structural frames, bases, platforms, supports, and other components used in custom equipment and electrical systems
• Work with structural steel materials, including C-channel, I-beam, angle iron, plate, and other fabricated components
• Use hand tools and power tools such such as drills, impact drivers, grinders, measuring tools, and torque tools
• Drill, bolt, fasten, and secure structural components according to engineering and production requirements
• Verify dimensions, alignment, fit, and overall quality of completed assemblies
• Follow production drawings, work instructions, quality requirements, and established manufacturing procedures
• Meet established production schedules while maintaining quality standards
• Inspect completed work for accuracy and report any defects or discrepancies
