Job summary

GROUP-Industries in Louisiana is seeking an experienced Industrial Form Carpenter to design, construct, erect, install, and repair wood-formed structures on an outdoor industrial site. You will read blueprints, lay out forms, and assemble timber and concrete forms using hand, pneumatic, and power tools.

This full-time, hourly role requires 3+ years in the field, NCCER Industrial Carpentry certification, and strict adherence to safety rules.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of field experience as a Class-A Industrial Form Carpenter
• Must hold NCCER Industrial Carpentry Certification or willing to test
• Experience reading blueprints/drawings
• Perform math calculations
• Adhere to all safety rules and regulations of GROUP-Industries and clients
• Excellent problem-solving skills and understanding of mapping concepts

Responsibilities

• Reads blueprints or building plans for material requirements and dimensions
• Selects and transports materials and tools for the job
• Measures and marks cutting lines on material
• Shapes materials to prescribed measurements
• Assembles cut materials and fastens with nails, glue, or dowel pins
• Braces forms in place for concrete piers, footings and walls
• Constructs forms and chutes for pouring concrete
• Builds false work to strengthen or protect structures
• Verifies trueness with plumb bob or level
• Operates survey equipment for accuracy
• Performs basic math in surveys and assemblies
• Duties may include light administration and assistance to Project Superintendent
