Job summary

ANDRITZ in Ruston, LA seeks a Fitter to fit up and fabricate metal components, and to weld assemblies using GMAW, SMAW, and FCAW. The role requires reading blueprints, basic math, and knowledge of oxy-fuel and plasma cutting. You will operate saws, punches, and related tools in a warehouse setting and adhere to strict safety standards.

Responsibilities include inspections, crane-assisted handling of parts, and contributing to a safe, productive shop environment while upholding the ANDRITZ values.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED required.
• Beginner to intermediate welding/fabrication experience.
• Good math and basic geometry skills.
• Knowledge of oxy-fuel and hand plasma cutting.
• Ability to operate saw, cold saw, shear and punch press.
• Good knowledge and use of common fabrication tools.
• Strong communication and safety awareness.
• Work in a warehouse/manufacturing shop; lift up to 50 lb.

Responsibilities

• _fit up and fabricate metal components per blueprints.
• tack weld or weld assemblies using GMAW, SMAW, FCAW.
• perform first order inspection for dimensions.
• use jib and overhead cranes to move parts.
• maintain safe working practices and environment.
• align with ANDRITZ values and team goals.
• perform other duties as assigned.
