Job summary

Kj’s Market in South Carolina is seeking a bakery clerk to welcome guests and keep desserts fresh and beautifully decorated. You will prepare products, label and price items, and help with cake decorating using the cake production sheet.

Role requires a friendly, team-oriented approach, physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally, and the ability to stand for extended periods. Benefits include weekly pay, PTO, and health coverage.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide polite, friendly greetings and interactions with all guests.
• Prepare product for sale (icing, decorating, pricing, packaging, and labeling).
• Maintain product level, quality, and freshness.
• As needed, perform Foodservice Clerk functions.
• Maintain sanitation standards in the cooler, freezer, prep, and sales areas.
• Maintain a clean work area, couplers, and decorating bags.
• Maintain the organization of the freezer, including proper rotation of products according to variety.
• Communicate guest requests to management.
• Communicate temperature breakdowns to the supervisor.
• Keeps supply area neat, clean, and tidy at all times.
• Properly rotates icings (including how to read dates of icings) and scrapes down buckets.
• Use the cake manual as reference material.
• Write on cakes.
• Properly mix colors according to the color chart.
• Master the use of the airbrush.
• Use the cake production sheet.
• Achieve budgeted sales, shrink, and profits for the cake section of the bakery.
• Assist in product receiving and storage.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
