Job summary

Drybar is seeking an Assistant Shop Manager in Ashburn to oversee daily salon operations and lead the front-of-house and business side of each shift. You will ensure guest experiences meet Drybar standards while guiding a team of stylists and support staff.

You will drive sales targets, manage budgets, coach staff, and maintain brand compliance. This role requires strong leadership, organization, and a passion for premium blowout services.

Qualifications

• 2+ years supervising a team in a salon, spa, luxury retail, boutique fitness, or upscale hospitality setting.
• Proven record of hitting daily sales targets, with retail and membership conversion results you can quantify.
• Experience building schedules and managing labor against a budget.
• Cash handling, credit card reconciliation, and end of day closeout experience.
• Proficiency with booking and POS platforms (Booker strongly preferred).
• Comfortable reading performance reports and turning them into shift actions.
• Working knowledge of a P&L and how daily decisions move it.
• Inventory control for retail and back of house, including counts, ordering, and loss prevention.
• Accurate hourly timekeeping and payroll submission.
• Trains, schedules, and coaches staff; acts as in-shop leader when manager is off.
• Gives clear, fair feedback and handles team conflicts calmly.
• Supports recruiting and onboarding across all roles.
• Knowledge of Drybar services, styles, and products.

• Manage the shop and leadership team.
• Interview and select high quality candidates, ensuring cultural fit and training.
• Attract and recruit Stylists locally and build relationships with beauty schools.
• Set and meet daily budget goals.
• Coach and provide feedback to ensure Drybar standards.
• Maximize the shop’s financial potential and manage P&L.
• Provide vision for and lead with Drybar’s Heart & Soul.
• Identify and develop talent for future leadership roles.
• Maintain the shop’s visual appearance per brand standards.
• Foster a safe, positive work culture and resolve staff relations issues.
