Job summary

Amcor is seeking a Machine Operator at their Orlando location in Florida, responsible for operating blow molding machines and ensuring quality production. Candidates should have a High School Diploma or GED and ideally possess experience in blow mold or injection mold processes.

The role includes responsibilities such as monitoring machine quality, performing maintenance, and adhering to safety protocols. The successful candidate must be ready for 12-hour shifts, including nights and weekends, and demonstrate a high attention to detail.

About the Role

Machine Operator – Amcor Rigid Packaging (ARP) – responsible for operating multiple blow molding machines and vision systems using written work instructions and computer interface. Requires a general understanding of overall manufacturing processes and ability to understand and follow basic good manufacturing practices. Qualified candidates are responsible for starting and maintaining blow mold machine operation with a complete and overall understanding in the assigned area of responsibility.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure that all machines within the scope of responsibility are kept running and producing quality bottles while minimizing downtime.
  • Complete all mold changes and set‑ups and perform minor maintenance activities.
  • Demonstrate organizational ability to complete daily clean‑up assignments and maintain good housekeeping throughout the entire area.
  • Support Injection Machine Operators and other team members to ensure a positive team environment.
  • Check and monitor quality on all assigned machines, recognize visual quality defects, and make appropriate adjustments to correct them.
  • Maintain all required documentation of quality checks, testing, process checks, downtime, housekeeping, and data entry.
  • Use all related software and equipment required for efficient production of quality product.
  • Follow all established safety rules and guidelines as outlined in the Amcor “No Injuries Safety Contract” and as trained; communicate hazards and safety issues to co‑workers and supervisors.
  • Perform other related duties as directed by the Production Supervisor or Lead.
  • Ensure product safety by maintaining cleanliness and notifying any observations that may create a risk to customers.
  • Immediately report any unsafe acts, conditions or accidents in the department.
  • Take reasonable care for self and others to prevent injury.
Physical Requirements
  • Normal, distant and near vision; hearing/l listening.
  • Ability to sit, talk/speak, hand/finger dexterity, walk, stand, stoop, push/pull, bend, kneel, climb, lift and carry up to 50 pounds (and occasionally 75 pounds). 
  • Work 12‑hour shifts day or night, including weekends and holidays.
  • Stand/walk up to 11 hours per shift on a concrete floor.
  • Perform tasks requiring up to 1000 pounds using a hydraulic hand jack.
  • May require work at an elevation of 10 feet or more.
About You
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Previous Blow Mold or Injection Mold training/experience preferred, or experience in manufacturing processes with demonstration of mechanical aptitude.
  • High attention to detail and product/process quality.
  • Ability to manage time independently and complete tasks in a fast‑paced production environment.
  • Willingness to work any shift and overtime as required.
