Job summary

Universal Stainless & Alloy Products, Inc. is seeking a Bloomer Operator to operate and monitor bloomer equipment, load materials, and ensure quality during production.

The role begins as a Utility with on-the-job training, progressing as qualifications are met, while emphasizing safety, quality, and productivity. Employees will train in multiple manufacturing areas, with a 4-day, 10-hour schedule and alternating Fridays and Mondays off.

• Ability to read and follow written instructions precisely.

• Willingness to learn and operate manufacturing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor bloomer equipment to process steel products according to established procedures and production requirements.
• Load, position, and handle steel materials as required for the manufacturing process.
• Monitor equipment operation and material movement throughout the production process.
• Make basic adjustments to equipment and process settings as trained and directed.
• Perform basic math and measurements to support production activities.
• Inspect material and finished product for quality and identify conditions that may require attention.
• Communicate equipment, material, or production concerns to the appropriate personnel.
• Follow established work instructions, quality requirements, and production procedures.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
• Participate in 5S and housekeeping activities.
