Job summary

The American Red Cross is seeking a Distribution Technician for blood product handling, packing, and shipping to hospital clients and partners. You will triage orders, select the correct temperature-controlled products, and communicate with hospital staff to ensure timely, accurate deliveries.

Responsibilities include inventory management, data entry for manufacturing records, and adherence to quality standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Two years’ experience in a regulatory, distribution or manufacturing environment is preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Good computer skills, attention to detail, accurate documentation, and good decision-making skills.
• Position may require a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Receive, process, pack and ship blood products/samples for hospital orders.
• Triage orders based on date and time, select and pack with correct temperature-regulating product.
• Communicate with hospital clients, volunteers and vendors; maintain product records for traceability.
• Ensure products are suitable for release and meet production goals; manage inventory.
• Perform data entry for manufacturing records; review accuracy of records.
• Identify and quarantine products not meeting quality requirements.
• May make hospital deliveries as assigned.
