Job summary

The American Red Cross is hiring for a Distribution Technician to receive, process, pack, and ship blood products for hospital orders. The role requires triaging orders by date/time, packing with correct temperature-regulating products, and maintaining traceable records.

Communicate with hospital clients, volunteers, and vendors while ensuring quality and compliance. The position supports 2nd shift (Mon-Fri 3:00 pm–11:00 pm) with training on day shift for 4–6 weeks.

Qualifications

• Requires High School diploma or equivalent.
• Two years' experience in regulatory, distribution or manufacturing preferred.
• Good computer skills and accurate documentation.
• Ability to train and work variable shifts.

Responsibilities

• Ensure products/samples are suitable for release for distribution, while meeting production goals.
• Perform good inventory management practices throughout the manufacturing and shipping process
• Prioritize workload to meet production and customer requirements.
• Perform data entry associated with further manufacturing, labeling, storage, ordering, and shipping; maintain and review accurate physical and electronic manufacturing records
• Analyze and make decisions based on visual inspection and information provided from other departments to meet time requirements and quality standards.
• Identify and quarantine products/samples that don't meet quality requirements, and perform disposition of unacceptable product
• May make hospital deliveries as assigned
