Job summary

Versiti Blood Center of Indiana is seeking a component manufacturing associate to prepare biological blood products in a regulated environment. The role involves manufacturing RBCs, plasma products, and neonatal components while adhering to SOPs and quality standards.

Responsibilities include labeling, storage compliance, equipment checks, and meeting production goals. Weekend and holiday rotations are required, with a focus on accuracy and team collaboration across shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required
• Equivalent education acceptable
• Less than 1 year experience (1-6 months) or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to read, interpret, and write documents
• Proficiency with computers and data entry
• Flexible to work weekend/holiday rotations

Responsibilities

• Manufactures Red Blood Cells (RBCs), Fresh Frozen Plasma and Recovered Plasma
• Manufactures Neonatal RBCs and prepares Platelet Apheresis components
• Performs leukoreduction of Whole Bloods and RBCs
• Manufactures Cryoprecipitate, Pooled Cryoprecipitate and Cryo Reduced Plasma
• Labels products to meet regulatory and inventory requirements
• Manufactures additional specialty products as needed by customer base
• Follows storage procedures for RBCs and plasma
• Performs equipment checks and QC as required
• Maintains productivity to meet production goals
• Works weekend, holiday rotations and on-call
