Job summary

The American Red Cross is seeking a Blood Component Manufacturing Technician to manufacture blood products and samples, processing units into transfusable components with precise labeling and documentation.

You will work as part of a team to meet production goals, manage inventory, and perform data entry for component production systems. The role may require weekend/holiday shifts to support hospital partners and ensure safe, timely transfusions.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years of related experience in regulatory, laboratory, or manufacturing environment.
• Good computer skills and ability to use a wide variety of programs and laboratory equipment.
• Good communication skills, with the ability to work on a team, as well as independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Meet quality and production goals with accurate documentation.
• Maintain inventory throughout manufacturing and distribution.
• Data entry and operation of component production software for labeling, storage, and sample tubes.
• Analyze information from other departments to meet timelines.
• Perform complex manufacturing tasks such as pooled product manufacturing, freezing, washing, or deglycerolizing.
• Communicate effectively with internal customers, vendors, and volunteers.
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays to meet hospital needs.
