Jobtailor is seeking a skilled phlebotomist to perform routine and complex blood draws in a fast-paced hospital setting, from newborns to geriatric patients.

This role requires a high school diploma and the ability to work efficiently to meet STAT and TIMED collection windows.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Ability to perform venipuncture and skin puncture.
• Ability to perform routine and complex blood drawing procedures.
• Ability to accurately identify patients and label specimens.
• Ability to meet STAT collection within 15 minutes and TIMED collection within the specified 30-minute window.
• Ability to work with patients from newborn to geriatric populations.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Participation in required accreditation, proficiency testing, and annual competency testing.
• Completion of continuing education as required by laboratory policy.
• No certifications are specified as required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex blood drawing procedures, including venipuncture and skin puncture.
• Verify patient identification and specimen labeling using two identifiers.
• Maintain response times for STAT and TIMED orders.
• Collect blood specimens from newborn to geriatric patients in emergency, inpatient, and outpatient settings.
• Coordinate with nurses for port collections when required.
• Follow laboratory policies and complete required documentation.
• Communicate accurately and professionally with internal and external customers.
• Work in a fast-paced hospital environment.
