Job summary

NYU Langone Health's Bellevue Hospital Blood Bank seeks an Administrative Director to lead laboratory operations, plan and evaluate workflows, and ensure safe transfusion services in compliance with AABB, CAP, NYSDOH, FDA, CLIA, Joint Commission and BBQAPSA.

The role directs staff performance, develops policies, maintains equipment, and oversees quality assurance, education, and regulatory adherence while aligning with the Bellevue mission and hospital standards.

Qualifications

• Education and licensure required by CAP/CLIA NYSDOH.
• Minimum six years in a clinical laboratory with supervisory responsibilities.
• ASCP/NCA/BB/SBB credentials preferred.
• Effective oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and quality systems.

Responsibilities

• Plans, develops, organizes, implements, directs and evaluates Blood Bank operations.
• Monitors workload, TAT, and staff performance; ensures safety and compliance.
• Ensures adherence to FDA, AABB, NYS DoH, CAP, CLIA, Joint Commission, EPA, OSHA standards.
• Maintains equipment and oversees maintenance programs.
• Develops policies and staff development plans; coordinates training.
• Oversees donor/inventory management and transfusion practices.
