Job summary

Luminis Health, Inc. seeks a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Technologist to perform a broad range of laboratory tests that support diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. The role involves interpreting results, communicating findings to physicians, and mentoring staff.

Responsibilities include operating laboratory equipment, maintaining safety, and participating in quality assurance and proficiency testing to ensure high standards of patient care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and ASCP certification eligibility.
• At least 1 year of acute care MLS experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Creates a work environment that promotes process improvement and ownership.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by following procedures and regulations.
• Maintains inter- and intradepartmental workflow through cooperation and clear handoffs.
• Manages laboratory supplies inventory and orders, optimizing usage.
• Interprets test results and communicates findings to clinicians; mentors new staff.
• Performs clinical laboratory tests (hematology, chemistry, bacteriology, urinalysis, etc.).
• Produces reports and documents critical values in the LIS; alerts supervisors as needed.
• Operates and maintains laboratory instrumentation and performs preventative maintenance.
• Participates in the laboratory quality plan and daily QC documentation.
• Participates in external proficiency testing and continuing education to maintain licensure.
