Job summary

Phoenix Children's Hospital invites a skilled Blood Bank Supervisor to join our on-site Laboratory team. You will lead technical operations, ensure compliance with policies and regulatory standards, and mentor staff across locations in the healthcare system.

The role requires MLS/BB ASCP certification (SBB preferred) with at least 4 years of blood bank experience, plus a track record in new assay implementation and QA activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory science or related field.
• MLS or Technologist in Blood Bank ASCP Certification or equivalent. SBB or eligible within one year preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience performing blood bank testing in clinical lab.
• Experience with new equipment/assay implementation and regulatory quality assurance activities.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains policies and guidelines; ensures compliance with regulatory guidelines and professional standards.
• Manages departmental budgets and capital expenditures.
• Maintains competency across laboratory technologies and stays updated on trends.
• Participates in quality improvement initiatives and hospital/department committees.
• Performs patient testing, quality control, and instrument maintenance per policies and safety guidelines.
• Oversees daily technical operations and staff development; ensures objective achievement.
• Performs miscellaneous job duties as needed.
