Job summary

Sonora Quest Laboratories in Mesa, AZ is seeking a Lab Assistant to support technical staff with specimen collection, receipt, and processing. You will help prepare samples for testing and may perform waived or limited moderate complexity testing as approved.

This role reports to department leadership, adheres to CLIA and company procedures, and emphasizes accuracy, timeliness, and professional communication with internal teams and external clients.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; 18 years or older if phlebotomy.
• Progression through career ladder II-IV requires completion of ladder requirements.
• DHS Fingerprinting Certification or ability to obtain fingerprint certification.
• Valid state driver’s license (where applicable) and eligibility for company auto insurance.
• Phlebotomy/CLA certification as defined by state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Process and prepare patient samples including collection, receipt and processing.
• Perform waived and moderate complexity testing under supervision.
• Maintain quality, track specimens, and monitor pending lists; meet department standards.
